I really enjoyed using Twine. It's simple, and it's fun. I love the idea of being able to create something that will allow the reader to create their own story and ending. This is something I will definitely be thinking about using in this class. However, I do worry about my creativity and will have to think about different ways I can go about using Twine. "Psyche in the Underworld"

Venus tells Psyche that she must go to the Underworld and ask Proserpine for some of her beauty to use for a day while she searches for a lover. When Psyche goes to plunge to her death in order to reach her destination, the turret told her a way to get to the Underworld without actually dying. She would have to bring two coins in her mouth, one for each a beggar and a ferryman, two barley-cakes for the three-headed beast, and ignore any calls for help-as they were all traps set by Venus. Psyche followed these instructions, and gets to and back from the Underworld safely with the jar of beauty. After she is in a safe area, she decides she wants to try some of the beauty in the jar-even though she was warned about opening it. She believes that it will help her get Cupid back. The next story goes on to tell you that when she does open it-there is no beauty inside. Instead, it's full of Stygian sleep, and she quickly passes out.

This was the absolute most interesting story in reading b. I would love if there was a more detailed version of this task she was sent on. I am very surprised that even though she was warned not to open it, she did it anyway. I thought she would have learned from when Cupid's warned her about finding out who he was. After finishing this unit, I want to read more about Cupid and Psyche!

"Charite and the Old Woman"

After being kidnapped from her family in hopes for ransom, a girl was crying unconsolably. The robbers had an old woman sit with her to try to calm her. The girl grew tired, and eventually fell asleep. Suddenly, she jolted awake and was acting like a crazy person.The old woman asked her what was wrong. The girl said that she and her cousin, who she was always very close to growing up, were about to get married with a beautiful wedding ceremony. She told the old woman that she had just dreamt that after being dragged violently out of their house, her lover followed the trail of the robbers in search for her. He was devastated, asking people for help, One of the robbers got fed up with this, and grabbed a stone and threw it at the lover, killing him. The old lady told her that a dream in the daytime never comes true, and a nightmare is always the opposite of what will come. She beings to tell the girl about the tale of Cupid and Psyche.

Very interesting read and introduction to Cupid and Psyche. It's also very simply, and not too complex, so it should make a good candidate for this week's assignment.
